THE HARD N FAST RULES
The festival organisers and traditional landowners would firstly like to say a huge Welcome and Thankyou for coming to Tropical Winter Solstice - Music and Lifestyle Gathering Festival 2009. We trust that your experience will be an enjoyable one and you will take away many good memories. However, we ask you to please be responsible and respect the land you dance on as the festival site is on private Aboriginal property. The traditional landowners of Pethericks and the organisers of Tropical Winter Solstice will not tolerate the use of illegal substances or anti-social behavior.
FESTIVAL INFORMATION
Information about DJ & band set times, site map, activity times and locations, messages to find your friends, and toilet paper will be located at the Chai Shop. Or ask those guys wandering around in their orange Hi-Vis vests n two way radios. WRIST BANDS
Wrist bands will be allocated at the front gate upon entry along with site information, and must be worn at all times for the duration of the festival. No wrist band, no entry.
RUBBISH We are all custodians of the land so it is your responsibility to leave your camp as you found it and take all your rubbish, cigarette butts and recycling home. Rubbish bags and film canisters for cigarette butts will be handed out at the front gate upon entry and these are to be used to take all your rubbish home. Black bag - rubbish. Green bag - recycling. Film canister - cigarette butts. If there is room in the car to bring it to the festival, then there IS room in the car to take it home. Pack out what you pack in and leave no trace. "Take nothing but photos, leave nothing but footprints". DUST Once entering the Petherick's property, please drive VERY slowly and be mindful of the dust you’re creating.
CAMP GROUND The camp ground is a place to chill out, relax or sleep, so please respect your neighbours and keep the noise down at night. Blaring car stereos, generators and excessive noise in the camp ground will not be tolerated.
FIRES
Fires are only permitted in the designated fire pit areas due to local fire restrictions, please respect these restrictions.
DRINKING WATER
There are taps throughout the camp ground and behind main stage area. This is spring water and is potable (drinkable), so bring water bottles from home to fill.
TOILETS
Please use the toilets and do not take dumps in the bush. The toilets will cleaned daily and stocked with toilet paper, however if it has run out, please ask at the Chai Tent for more.
PETS
Sorry folks - no pets allowed on the property as it is situated right next to Litchfield National Park, so please leave your dogs, cats, birds, snakes etc at home.
FIRST AID
St John Ambulance will be on hand to tend to any unfortunate injuries, however we strongly recommend you include a First Aid kit with your camping equipment, and be First Aid aware. Look out for your mates. WHAT TO BRING
Your smiles, funkiest outfit for the Saturday night party, creativity and happiness. Also please bring hat and water, your undies, food, drinks and plenty of ice to keep that esky cold, camping equipment and chair to sit on, torch to see at night, mozzie repellent, sunscreen, swimming gear, rubbish and recycling bags, toys n goodies. FOOD STALLS
There will be a range of food stalls at the festival which will be serving up yummy vegetarian dishes. They also will be serving chai, coffee, bottled water and soft drinks, however bring extra food so you don't go hungry.
MONSOON CAFE
Monsoon Cafe is located 1 kilometre from the festival site if you need to have a nice sit down meal or stock up on ice. They also have great accommodation as an alternative to camping at the site, however book early as rooms are limited. http://www.monsooncafe.com.au/
TELEPHONE - Wangi Falls Cafe
There is no phone reception at the festival site, however if you need to make that phone call, the Wangi Falls Cafe has a public phone and there you can purchase phone-away cards. They also make pretty good take-away n chips too.
