As they say, the journey to the destination is half the fun.
There are two directions you can take
Through Berry Springs
This direction involves a very dusty, and in parts corrugated dirt road which is the Northern road into the Litchfield National Park.
Head south 47km out of Darwin on the Stuart Highway, turn right at Cox Peninsula Rd - Berry Springs. Drive along the Cox Peninsular Road for approximately 36 kilometres and turn left onto Litchfield Park Road. Follow Litchfield Park Road for approximately 68 kilometres. Remember to drive VERY very carefully on this Road as it is notorious for corrugations, and the site is on the left just past Woolaning Community. If you go past Monsoons Cafe you have gone to far!
Through Batchelor
The second way to drive (safest way) is to drive south on the Stuart Highway for 84 km, turn right at the Batchelor turnoff. You will see a big billboard advertisement for Litchfield National Park. Drive through Batchelor and follow road for approx 10ks, then turn left into the Litchfield Park road. The site entrance is on your right hand side approximately 4.5 km past the Wangi Falls turn off and 1 kilometre past Monsoon Cafe.
Have a happy and safe journey, and remember to FUEL UP in Darwin before you leave.
